Five for Friday-Another One Off to College

I'm keeping myself busy and linking up today with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday!

Keeping myself busy so I don't have too much time to think about the fact that my youngest has now gone off to college.

We moved Jake into Kettering yesterday, and even though it's not too far away, it's still a big adjustment.  It was a long day of working to keep my emotions in check, something that isn't easy for me.  One bright spot was when a professor mistook me for Jake's older sister.  :)

Enjoyed finally getting the chance to spend some time up north in Petoskey last weekend.  It was nice to see my mom and dad and brother Ozzie.

I'm surprised I got a picture of him that isn't blurry.  He doesn't hold still much!

We had a beautiful day to go to the antique fair, though we just couldn't seem to find that perfect treasure we were looking for.  I thought this sign was really cool but way out of our price range.

I had a lot of fun this week making a new version of my classroom helpers bulletin board set using my latest addiction, Melonheadz!  I created two different types of job headings...

two different types of student name cards with the option of clip art or a space to put a photo of each student and also the choice of either writing their names or an editable PowerPoint version so you can type their names...

two different banners...

and more!

I can't wait to do my bulletin board in August!  You can find my Classroom Helpers Bulletin Board Set #2 in my TPT Store!

Something else I accomplished this week was diving into the realm of 4th grade Social Studies!  Many of you may know that I have adapted the MAISA Social Studies units for 5th grade and now share the year's worth of plans and student packets for free, and have also created teacher resources that go with each unit.  You can read more about that here.  I was contacted a while back by some 4th grade teachers and asked if I was planning on doing the same for 4th grade.  My answer was one of my usual ones...I'd love to if I could find the time!  Well, I have at least gotten started and am happy to say that this week I finished the Our Federal Government unit at last!

The 71 page Teacher Resources Set is now available in my TPT Store and contains instructions on how to receive the unit lesson plans and over 100 page student packet materials for free!  Once I have the entire year's worth of materials completed, I will announce it right here!

Have a wonderful summer weekend, and check out all the Five for Friday happenings at Doodle Bugs Teaching!
